Updates by Ken Casey, 27-August-2008 - corrected title to read 1946 instead
of 1945.  Clarified note on on-site digitization, and changed End date to
relfect end date in the data set.  Also, copied file called "POST" to
"POST.ps" since it was a postscript file, then converted it to PDF.  That
file contains a station location map.

NODC/OCL GODAR digitization format (comma-separated-values). These data were manually 
entered into a MS Excel spreadsheet by NODC personnel and /or contractors from the 
original source.  The MS Excel spreadsheet was subsequently saved as the .xls file 
and as a comma-delimited ascii text in the .csv file.

NOTE: These data were digitized on site by MMBI.  No .xls Excel versions
are provided.
