Information on CTD raw data observed by R/V MIRAI
(Cruise number : MR98-K01)

1. Preface
----------
CTD(Conductivity-Temperature-Depth profiler) is used to observe 
the vertical profiles of temperature and conductivity.
Usually, this system is operated with multicylinder water sampler.
Observed signal is transmitted from sensor to the operation room on 
board using wire cable, and electric power is supplied from vessel 
to sensor.
Details of sensors attached to CTD system for MR98-K01 cruise are 
presented in section 3.
The following software, developed and supplied by the Sea-Bird 
Electronics, Inc., was used in MR98-K01.

  SEASOFT(ver 4.226) for data processing
Data presented on this website is averaged over 1m.

4. Notes
---------
(1) Observed data by system1 is stored in the data file, its filename 
    includes the letter of 'L' or 'l'.
    Observed data by system2 is stored in the data file, its filename 
    includes the letter of 'S' or 's'.
(2) D.O. sensor was not attached to system2 in this cruise. 
    So numerics presented in D.O. column have no meaning.
(3) Data are averaged over 1m. Only for the file named 'd8k119s2.ctd', 
    data is averaged over 1dbar.
(4) Data processing sequence for SEASOFT is presented in the following 
    table.
