The CTD data are stored 1 cast per file. They are mostly self-explanatory. "day" is day of year with 1.5= noon (GMT) on 1 January. "lat1", "lat2", etc, are probably starting and ending latitudes, longitudes. "Tday" is time of day, in days, referenced to "day"=147; i.e. the first "Tday" value is "day"-144. XBT data are in 4 sets of files, corresponding to the nearly simultaneous launches of 4 XBTs each time; there are some gaps (mostly in xbt3) due to launch failures (the 4 sets contain 34,33,18,33 profiles, respectively). The "time" files contain yearday (as defined above for the CTDs) for each drop. The "tsec" and "depth" files contain time in seconds (starting from 0) and depth (m) based on the convetional fall rate equation, of each sample in a profile; these are the same for all profiles. There are 1224 samples in each profile, hence 306 lines of 4 samples in the ascii file. The temperature data are arranged: ((T(z,t),z=zmin, zmax),t=tmin, tmax), with 136 lines lines containing 9 samples for each profile. Let me know if you have trouble sorting this out.
