Subject: [Fwd: priority data set] From: Dan Seidov Date: Mon, 28 Jan 2008 10:55:28 -0500 To: Carla Coleman -------- Original Message -------- Subject: priority data set Date: Tue, 22 Jan 2008 10:14:22 -0500 (EST) From: Tim Boyer To: Dan.Seidov@noaa.gov CC: Sydney.Levitus@noaa.gov Dan, Please convert the following the dataset found in /home/boyer/work/datasets/RESGET These are side-by-side drops of CTDs and XBTs. Below is the email from Franco Reseghetti that came with the data. The two publications I gave you by Reseghetti have more information about the data. The CTD data you have done before. The XBT is not much different in form, but needs some care. For instance, the XBT files contain the following lines: Depth Coeff. 1 : 6.691 Depth Coeff. 2 : -0.00225 These depth coefficients need to be translated into codes second heder 33 (depth_equation_used): 1 (one), meaning corrected second header 54 (needs_depth_fix): 0 (zero), meaning no fix necessary Thanks, Tim Dear Tim, How are You? This is the first part of files concerning XBT-CTD comparison in Mediterranean Sea, namely T6 and CTD profiles used in the published article. Sorry for the delay. Please, confirm if all is ok. If your answer is positive, I will prepare asap T4 and DB data in the same format.
