I strongly believe that we continue down the path of mutual cooperation and friendship! We have completed the 6 ICES datasets we obtained from you last month. Daphne Johnson will be sending you an email which will contain a quality control report for each data set. It is our hope that Daphne will beginning taking on more responsibility in dealing with ICES. The only major problem that she found was that some of the nutrients for the bottle data are different than the nutrients from the same stations which are already in WOD. Daphne is investigating. It may be our own problem, or a change made at ICES. We have identified more datasets we would like to obtain from ICES. As always, I wish to thank you and look forward to a productive fall season. > > Hey Bob, > > Thank you for getting in touch, it was nice to meet you back in June at WGDIM and as Else mentioned, that was one of the last sunny days before the 'wet' summer kicked in. > > I'm glad to say that we've made a lot of progress in the Data Centre since then. Else has made great in-roads into the backlog, we've hired the multi-talented Hjalte (read about him on our bulletin board, he was also at WGDIM) who will be working with Else, and we will start the process of finding an additional data manager to help across all the ICES disciplines. We have a good plan in place now for moving forward so we're confident that we can tackle this with our existing and future resource levels. > > Having said that, we are very grateful for your offer of assistance and we hope that the offer can remain 'on record' should we run into difficulties - we will keep you posted on progress. > > I hope you are well and in an air conditioned office, I look forward to meeting with you again soon. > > Best regards, > > Neil > > Neil Holdsworth > Data Centre Manager > International Council for the Exploration of the Sea > > Email: neil@ices.dk > > > Web: www.ices.dk > > Tel: +45 3338 6718 > > > Fax: +45 3393 4215 > > H.C.
