# File CSIRO_CS.csv has a subset of all the bottle data from Australia's coastal # stations found in CSIRO Data Trawler on 3 January 2005. # The subset contains data for coastal stations Port Hacking 50 m (PHA), Port Hacking # 100 m (PHB), Maria Island (MAI), and Rottnest Island (ROT), 27 August 1993 to 16 # April 2002. These 262 stations had never been submitted to NODC/OCL. # File CSIRO_CS.csv also includes all data for coastal stations Augusta (AUG), # Bougainville (BOU), Crowdy Head (CRO), and Warrnambool (WAR). The 170 stations for # these four coastal stations has been submitted to NODC under catalog number 9200118. # They exist in the OCL files with the wrong platform and country. The data from # catalog 9200118 will be replaced by the data in file CSIRO_CS.csv. # Reported "pressure" values in dbar represent depth values in meters. # All start times for coastal stations Augusta (AUG), Bougainville (BOU), Crowdy Head # (CRO), and Warrnambool (WAR) are equal to 00:00:00 and represent missing values. ---- Subject: RE: Coastal Stations Data Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2005 16:29:36 +1100 From: To: CC: Hi Ricardo 1 - Station 96003 from Maria Island was obtained by Southern Surveyor as it happened to be in the area at an appropriate time. It is appropriate to enter all Coastal Station depths as Meters. 2 - OK Regards Terry -----Original Message----- From: Ricardo Locarnini [mailto:Ricardo.Locarnini@noaa.gov] Sent: Tuesday, 4 January 2005 7:27 AM To: Byrne, Terry (Marine, Hobart) Cc: Brodie, Pamela (Marine, Hobart) Subject: Coastal Stations Data Hello Terry, I am now completing our archives for the bottle data from the coastal stations. We had most of this archive, except for a few hundred stations collected since August 1993. I am also replacing in our archives several stations that we had under the wrong coastal station/platform code/name. Here are two questions related to the coastal station hydro data: 1. I am archiving all "pressure" values reported in Data Trawler for the coastal stations as actually depth values in meters. Please, let me know if this is a bad assumption for particular stations or dates. Notice that from the subset I am archiving, only station 96003 from Maria Island has pressure/depth values that are not integers. 2. Stations 97003 to 97007 for coastal station Rottnest Island have the same starting date, 24 February 1997. I am changing the starting dates for Rottnest Island stations 97004, 97005, 97006, and 97007, to match their corresponding bottom and end dates, i.e. Station# Start date 97004 19 Mar 1997 97005 15 Apr 1997 97006 15 May 1997 97007 16 Jun 1997 Best wishes, Ricardo
