Source: These data from the NOAA Ship David Starr Jordan were sent to NODC on two 
	CD-ROM's.

Actions: The data from the CD-ROM's were copied directly to subdirectory 
	 "data/0-data".

This directory contains files generated by NODC with ancillary information
about the data submission.

0001669_lonlat.txt - Contains sample locations for these data.  Each row
                     contains the geographical position where these data were
                     collected (longitude in the left column and latitude in the
                     right column, both in degrees).  NODC may have corrected
                     geographic positions that seemed to be in error when
                     generating this file.  However, NODC did not change the
                     original data files under the directory data/0-data/.

NSSDAC_file_naming_and_format_v2.pdf - Description of the naming conventions
                                       and formats for the data files under the
                                       directory data/0-data/.

data/0-data/
This directory contains the data files as submitted to NODC.

NOTE: The file "/data/0-data/NODC DS-04-01 CalCOFI/NODC-OBS_001.ELG" contains
      longitudes which should be in the western hemisphere, not the eastern
      hemisphere. These longitudes should be multiplied by a negative one (-1)
      in order to obtain the correct coordinates for the data.
