Dear Investigator,

The WOCE Hydrographic Program Office at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography is the Data Assembly Center for the WHP. With the WHP expeditions completed, the focus of the WHPO is on the data files, and our primary effort is to make the WHP data available to the community. You will find here data and documentation for the WHP One-Time Survey cruises, for the WHP Repeat Hydrography cruises, for the WHP Time Series Stations, and for WOCE-related CTD/hydrographic cruises, as well as links to useful sites.

The WHP Office is charged with providing a more nearly uniform assembled data set than has heretofore been possible for a large program. Hence, over time, WHP data files are slightly modified, without change of data values, to better fit the uniform standard. Also, new or updated data sets flow steadily through the WHP Office. Therefore, please visit the WHPO web site before presenting or publishing any results.

Some of the WHP data are "non public". This means that the data originators for the data in question do not yet wish that their data be useable by others without their knowledge and specific consent. We have placed "non-public" data in public view, but encrypted. The passwords for decryption are held by the data providers (and of course the WHP Office), and we have tried to make it easy to find the contact information for the data providers.
