I am Durga Prasad. I hail from Andra Pradesh situated in the southern part of the country. My home town is Vijayawada. It's present on the banks of the river Krishna. Since the beginning I studied in english medium high schools and colleges. I graduated from Loyola College now an autonomous college and I studied masters degree from one of the top schools of the country, Indian Agricultural Research Institute at New Delhi.

As a Graduate Student I was interested in Botany, especially the Diversity of Plant Kingdom. In post graduate studies I was interested in Biochemistry, Microbial Growth and Metabolism.

As a scientist I work in National Institute of Oceanography, one of the best laboratories of CSIR doing ocean research for the benefit of mankind. We at Chemistry Division of NIO are involved in various areas of research like Global Warming, Confronting Climate Changes and Drugs from Sea Organisms.

NIO is situated in Dona Paula very near to the port of Mormugoa.

NIO is the only research institution doing advanced research in the entire Indian Ocean region.
