I am Dr. Anil Chatterji, at NIO, Goa, working as Scientist E-1 in Aquaculture Division.

I have completed my Ph.D in 1976 at A.M.U University,Aligarh with Zoology (Fisheries) subject. My M.Sc. was completed in 1971 at A.M.U University, Aligarh in Zoology with Specialization in Ichthyology & Fisheries.

I am having 25 year Research experience and has been working devotedly on the aspects related to marine resource, aquaculture and various aspects related to the biology of marine organisms.

My work in the field of Aquaculture has been much appreciated especially the work related to the farming of commercially important marine organisms on floating rafts, ans in the flaoting cages. The design of the cage and raft was done by me.

I have also designed a multipurpose prawn hatchery suitable for seed production of both fresh and marine waters prawns. My work on Indian horseshoe crab is being recognised not only in India but outside the country. I have two patents on my records. I got an opportunity in leading 10 projects of National interest. I have also won various prizes in writing scientific articles in Hindi.

I have been also actively involved in the teaching programmes of the post graduate students of Goa University for the past 6 years. I also take practical classes of these students. I have also guided two M.sc and 6 B.Sc. students in completion of their dissertaions. As I am a recognised guide for guiding student for Ph.D, two students are presently enrolled under me for Ph.D in the Faculty of Marine Science, Goa University, Foa.
