He did his graduation in Civil Engineering at Madras University( 1975). He holds Diploma in Marine Civil Engineering from University of Trondeim (Norway),1980. He did his M.E in Hydraulic Engineering at Andra University (1982),while obtained the Doctorate in Ocean Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

He joined NIO, Goa as Junior Scientific Assistant in (1976-1981). He was promoted as Sr. Scientific Assistant in NIO, Refional Centre, Visakhapattam( 1977-1981). From 1981-1986 as a Scientist B, at NIO- Goa, then, as Scientist C from (1986-1991) at same Institute, then, as Scientist E1, NIO,Goa, Since 1991.
Visited NORWAY in Jan 1980 to June 1980 for studing P.G. Diploma Course in Oceanography in Marine Civil Engineering and had opportunities to visit U.K, DENMARK, NETHERLANDS and FRANCE during above study programme. He was sent to MAURITIUS in August 1987 to Oct. 1987, on deputation under Government of India for undertaking Costal Environmental Studies for the Govt, of MARITIUS.
He has made an active involvement as R & D Project Leader in theoretical and field studies of the coastal environment of the Indian coast. Organized extensive data collection program on waves, currents and other environmental parameters for the development of harbours, marinas and coastal protection.
Executed various national and international sponsored/ consultancy projects, costing around Rs, 40 million during the last 20 years, on beach erosion, shore protection, port development, design of marine outfalls, mathematical modeling of current circulation on harbours etc. Offered many consultancy services for setting up sea water intake system of the aquaculture farms.
Having good working knowledge on mathematical modeling of fluid flow problems. Having vast experience in computer programming in BASIC, FORTRAN, word processing using WORD-STAR, WORD, WORD PERFECT, MS. WINDOWS and working knowledge on main frame computers and PCs. Extensively involved in field works, and participated in 5 ship cruises and many works.
