INDIAN OCEANOGRAPHIC DATA CENTRE (IODC)

The centre started its functioning at the National Institute of oceanography (NIO) in 1966. Being a National Facility for management of oceanographic data, the centre is responsible to provide oceanographic information/data and for developing a knowledge-base to maximise the economic, environmental and societal benefits at national and international levels.The centre ensures that the user gets quality data. As a nodal point for the Indian ocean datamanagement the centre has been recognised as Responsible National Oceanographic Data Centre ( RNODC) for Indian ocean by IODE of IOC.
