NorthEast Water Polynya (NEWP) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The NorthEast Water Polynya (NEWP) is a coastal, reduced-ice region on the northeast Greenland shelf between 77 degrees north and 81 degrees north. It is the northernmost of several polynyas along the east Greenland coast. The overall objective of the NEWP project was to gain an interdisciplinary, integrated understanding of arctic shelf-slope processes in a "model" polynya system. The objective of the physical component was to determine the local currents, particularly in the polynya's bathymetric trough system. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * 1992 Cruise Track * 1993 Cruise Track * 1992 Stations * 1993 Stations * Bathymetric Contour of Study Area * 3D Bathymetric Contour of Study Area * Current Meter Data * GPS Data Please use anonymous ftp to download data. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This data set is subject to updates.
