***************************************************************** Journal for accession number: 9700319 Created on: Wed 4 Sept 2013 13:32:25 -0400 By: Mathew Biddle, National Oceanographic Data Center Source: The data in this archival information package (NODC accession) is the content of NODC standard CD-ROM / DVD-ROM product Texas-Louisiana Shelf Circulation and Transport Processes Study: Current Meter, Meteorological Buoy, XBT/XSV/XCP/CTD/IES data, NODC-88. All data on this disc were extracted from other data collections archived at the National Oceanographic Data Center at the time the disc was created. Actions: An ISO disc image of the original disc was created using standard disc duplication software and copied to data/0-data/disc_image/ directory. The content of the original disc was copied 'as is' to data/0- data/disc_contents/ directory. Files: about/ This directory contains files created by NODC staff that describe the contents of the disc. reversed_coordinate_note.txt - Contains the filenames that have reversed latitude longitude coordinates. The latitudes in these files should be longitudes and the longitudes should be latitudes. 9700319_lonlat.txt - Contains sample locations for these data. NOTE: The reversed coordinates were adjusted in this file. Each row contains the geographical position where these data were collected (longitude in the left column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees). NODC may have corrected geographic positions that seemed to be in error when generating this file. However, NODC did not change the original data files under the directory data/0-data/. 9700319_map.jpg - Sample location map for these data. data/0-data/ This directory contains the data files from the original NODC-088 disc. data/0-data/disc_image/ This directory contains an ISO disc image file that can be used by several CD-ROM / DVD-ROM authoring software applications to create an exact duplicate of the original disc. data/0-data/disc_contents/ This directory contains all of the individual directories and files, in their original order, to provide direct access to the original data on the original disc.
