Temperature is available only for the first 1804 data cycles (1714 4 Jul 88 through 2014 17 Sep 88). Pressure is available only for the first 2223 cycles (through 0714 5 Oct 88). Conductivity is available throughout except in cycles 4300 through 8033 (2014 30 Dec 88 through 0914 4 Jun 89). A bath calibration for the conductivity sensor was not available. Conductivity coefficients were derived by inserting resistance loops into the cell aperture. Pressure was evaluated by means of a calibration made in January 1990, about 6 months after recovery. Pressures calculated with this calibration are in adequate agreement with the meter depth as derived from the ship's echo sounder. The conductivity series contains a number of spikes that appear to have been caused by instrument failures. CMDAC has prepared an alternate version of this record in which the spikes have been smoothed by linear interpolation. A spikey episode on 21 and 22 Nov 89 has been excised entirely. Both the original version of the file and the alternate version are available at this site. Move up one level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
