The following note is provided by MAFF: A scatter plot shows
the directions to be anomalous. The current meter was checked
and seems OK, but it is possible that its rotation was impeded
in some way. Exercise caution if the directions are to be used.

CMDAC notes that for much of the record the directions are
confined to two narrow ranges, one near 50 degrees and the
other near 270 degrees. There are no directions less than 30
degrees or greater than 345 degrees.

An alternate version of this record is available in which CMDAC
has removed one spike from the speed series on 28 Nov 88.  Both
