Actions: Data were extracted from the compressed format files, and the
compressed files were discarded as artifacts of data transmission. 

Version 2.2: This version contains the format file, Russian_NODC_FORMAT.txt,
which was copied to the about/ directory. NCEI also made updates to bring this
accession up to current archving standards by extracting sample location from
data files and generating a location map for these data.


about/
This directory contains files created by NCEI staff, email correspondence, and
other 'negotiable' information between NODC staff and the data provider.

9700252_lonlat.txt - 
  Contains sample locations for these data. Each row
  contains the geographical position where these data were collected (longitude
  in the left column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees). NCEI
  may have corrected geographic positions that seemed to be in error when
  generating this file. However, NCEI did not change the original data files
  under the directory data/0-data/.
