The following involves the work done on tape d00905. This is "towed STD" data. This tape has THREE (3) files of binary data. According to the Data Documentation Form (DDF), this tape was created on an HP computer. This computer is a sixteen-bit machine. That is, each word consists of sixteen (16) bits. Program, "TOWED-STD-CV", was used to convert the binary data into ASCII characters. This program was run on the UNISYS/2200 computer. This program automatically reads two (2) HP words into each UNISYS word. Each of these words was divided into two (2) Half-words for conversion into ASCII characters from the binary.
