This monograph is a joint effort between the World Data Centers in
Silver Spring and Obninsk, Russia.  The title of this monograph is
"Russian Marine Expeditionary Investigations of the World Ocean."  A
copy of this monograph is available from the NOAA Central Library.  The

This document describes historical Russian oceanographic expeditionary
research since the discovery of the Bering Strait by S. Dezhnyov in
1648.  This monograph presents information on the most famous
expeditions and the results from these investigations, the national and
international projects (programs) involving Russia, and the
organizations contributing to research of the world oceans.
