Comment : The 1972-10/28/1975 data are from the Coastal Geodetic Survey and were keypunched at Scripps (D.Luther). The residuals and comparisons with Noumea warranted the adjustment of -5cm from 12Z 11/21/72 - 03Z 04/05/73. Based on an overlap of Nov-Dec 1975 with the exisiting series, the CGS series was adjusted by adding 162mm. This span has poor timing and many short gaps. The site was moved in March 1989 to Latitude: 18 08.2S, Longitude: 178 25.6E and is maintained by NOS. Based on an overlap of March-May 1989, a constant was determined for relating the NOS data to the historic tide staff zero. A constant of (-10347 mm) was added to the data as provided by NOS. The data from the L&S ADR gauge begin on 01 June, 1989. A common bench mark is also available between the two time periods for comparisons of geodetic surveys. The NTF series is tied to the historic series by adding 190 mm. SPECIAL NOTE FOR USE OF NTF DATA: Supply of sea level data subject to the following conditions: i) When any data supplied by the National Tidal Facility is used in any publication or report, the origin of such data shall be acknowledged in that publication or report in the following approved form:-- "Tidal {predictions) for {port} {are} supplied {constants} {station} {is} {material} {...} by the National Tidal Facility, The Flinders University of South Australia, Copyright reserved." ii) All material is supplied in good faith and is believed to be correct. It is supplied on the condition that no warranty is given in relation thereto, that no responsibility or liability for errors or omissions is, or will be, accepted and that the recipient will hold the Flinders Univer- sity of South Australia and the National Tidal Facility free from all such responsibility or liability and from all loss or damage incurred as a consequence of any error or omission. iii) The acceptance of material and computations from the National Tidal Facility of the Flinders University of South Australia will be deemed to include acceptance of the conditions of supply.
