Subject: RE: Correction file Date: Wed, 10 Jul 2002 11:39:02 -0400 From: Don Spear To: "'Melanie Hamilton'" CC: "mikes@nodc.noaa.gov" Hi Melanie, For file: 200206262002.meds cg3161 2002 TE 9993. The version of this station from this file matches what is in our data base for that station number. If you change the U_FLAG to R and load it up, our archives will agree. The answer is easy, why this occurred is another problem, which I am trying to track down. Right now, my best guess is that an error was made running our interactive dup check. For file: 200207052002.meds 52077 2002 TE 6690 The first occurrence of this station in the file is what is in our archive. I suggest that you eliminate the second occurrence from the file, and change the uflag of the first occurrence to R, assuming that you have this station in your archive already. I suspect that this is the result of the same problem as above. We have had some staff turnover here, and we are training someone new as a backup to Roger. Combine that with the software problems I mentioned yesterday, and pretty soon things might start to get a mite stressful! I do have 2 problems with previous files. (1) file: 200206262002.meds I removed one station from the file and proceeded to load the remainder of the data. Apparently, this station is already in the database, thus it cannot be inserted as an update. Apparently, both have Uflag=D. Cannot delete it twice. I thought that if they were duplicate entries, I would eliminate one from the file. I did notice that they are not duplicates...so I didn't know what to do. Should one of these be a delete, and the other an update? Let me know.
