Recent Experiments of the OSU Buoy Group

The Buoy Group has been active for over 30 years, and has deployed arrays of current meters in nearly every part of the world ocean. Some years ago we began to place the data from these experiments online in electronic (i.e., browser-formatted) data reports. Although the Buoy Group no longer maintains an online presence the electronic data reports can be found in a CDROM set published by the Buoy Group. You can obtain a copy of the set by contacting the Buoy Group's database manager.

In this special WOCE version of the data report archive we have included just four experiments. Three of the four are WOCE components and the remaining experiment (Eastern Boundary Current) though not part of WOCE was associated with WOCE component PCM2. To reach the data reports available here, click on the links below.

The data reports listed above contain plots of the time series, frequency histograms, energy spectra and statistics. The current meter records are present and can be downloaded. It is worth noting that the current records, like all the records on this disk, have an open ASCII format - OSU's Stranger format.

From here you can return to this disk's top window.
