Source:  Temperature and salinity data received at NODC on 08/01/1997 on 4x4 
         image cards provided from the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office.  
         Data collected in the North Pacific Ocean and other locations, 1881-1933.  
         

File format: NODC/OCL GODAR digitization format (comma-separated-values).  These data were 
manually entered into a MS Excel spreadsheet by NODC personnel and /or contractors from 
the original source.  The MS Excel spreadsheet was subsequently saved as the .xls file and 
as a comma-delimited ascii text in the .csv file.

Using a report generating subroutine created in the Ocean Climate 
Laboratory, a Readme.accession number is included below:
