This was a verified copy of an old magneto-optical jukebox platter.

Version2.3 - This version of NCEI Accession 0000149 contains the previously submitted 
data in .csv format in the directory /data/0-data/1999/. Each .csv file contains 
all the data for the corresponding year and month as listed in the filename. The 
filenaming convention is not consistant between the most recent submission and the 
previous submission.

The most recent filenaming convention is as follows:

YYYYMM.csv

Where,
	YYYY - The four digit year for the data collected.
	MM   - The two digit month for the data collected.

The re-submitted data were transferred via FTP in a .zip file. The .zip file was 
uncompressed and the data files were stored in the directory corresponding to the 
.zip file naming convention. 

To update this accession to conform to new archiving practices, NCEI has performed the 
following actions:

The previous data was stored in /data/0-data/ as one .zip file and multiple .op files. 
The .zip file was uncompressed resulting in the .OP data files. The .OP files are 
duplicates of the .op files. The .op files and the .zip file were then deleted. The 
file /data/0-data/letter.txt was then moved to /about/.

This directory contains files with ancillary information about the data
submission.

0000149_lonlat.txt - Buoy locations for these data.  Each row contains the
                     geographical position for a buoy (longitude in the left
                     column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees).

0000149_map.jpg - Buoy location map for these data.

0-email.txt - E-mail from Mathieu Ouellet describing the NCEI Accession Number,
              Year of the data, and location where the re-submission can be found.

letter.txt - Letter from ISDM notifying NODC that data for 1999 have been
              mailed on CD and that the data are ready to be archived.

This directory contains the data files as submitted.

  Contains sample locations for these data.  Each row contains the
  geographical position where these data were collected (longitude in the
  left column and latitude in the right column, both in degrees).  NODC may
  have corrected geographic positions that seemed to be in error when
  generating this file.  However, NODC did not change the original data
  files under the directory data/0-data/.

0000149_map.jpg -
  Station location map for these data.  Latitude and longitude data has
  been extracted from the data files in this accession.  These data have
  been used to create a map graphic.
