GHRSST Reanalysis/GCOS SST-SI Diagnostics - Intercomparison Diagnostics for Historical Data Sets

For ease of display on this website, the intercomparison metrics have been divided into two tables: one each of "Time-dependent Diagnostics" and "Map Diagnostics". Time-dependent diagnostics include those with time on the x-axis; map diagnostics are on a latitude-longitude grid.

GCOS Monthly Five Degree Historical SST Time-dependent Intercomparison Metrics
HadSST2 HadISST1 ERSSTv3 Kaplan ICOADS COBE
HadSST2 X X X X X
HadISST1 X X X X X
ERSSTv3 X X X X X
Kaplan X X X X X
ICOADS X X X X X
COBE X X X X X
Elements in the bottom left of the table are time-latitude plots of anomalies; elements in the top right of the table are time series of global and hemispheric anomalies. The second data set listed in the title of each browse graphic is subtracted from the first data set in the title.

Elements in the bottom left of the table are time-averaged difference maps; elements in the top right of the table are RMS difference maps. For time-averaged maps, the second data set listed in the title of the browse graphic is subtracted from the first data set in the title.
