NODC NetCDF V2.1 Conventions
The U.S. NODC adapted the
standard netCDF conventions used by the Cooperative Ocean/Atmosphere Research
Data Service (COARDS
 )
as an extension to the GDAC NetCDF Version 2.1 conventions. The NODC netCDF
conventions, also known as the GADR netCDF conventions, are fully compatible
with ncBrowse and Ocean
Data View and are also compliant with the World Ocean Circulation
Experiment (WOCE
)
Global Data Resource netCDF conventions, which have been widely recognized
by numerous software plotting and analysis packages to provide more automatic
processing, plotting, and analysis capabilities.
