Marine Data Stewardship Division
The NODC Marine Data Stewardship Division archives and distributes oceanographic data and develops products to better understand marine ecosystem dynamics for improved near real-time decision support and understanding of the processes affecting climate change. Division personnel ingest data from ocean observation programs, manage, preserve, and disseminate data and data information, and develop products that improve the understanding of marine ecosystem dynamics.
The goal of the Marine Data Stewardship Division is to provide open access to archived oceanographic data and products to better understand oceanic processes for improved decision support.
End to End Data Stewardship
- Acquire marine environmental data from diverse partners and sources
- Archive and describe marine environmental data for long term usage
- Provide easy discovery of and access to marine environmental data
- Develop products that add value to original data sets
