4th Quarter 2012 Global Heat and Salt Content Updates Released

Released data distribution figures, temperature anomaly fields, heat, and salt content fields updated from the paper "World Ocean Heat Content and
Thermosteric Sea Level change (0-2000 m), 1955-2010" and other manuscripts.
Amended fields and figures have been placed online.

IMPORTANT: from February 7 to February 29, 2011, the pentadal heat content, thermosteric sea level component and
total steric sea level component were incorrect for pentads 2006-2010 and 2007-2011 due to misapplication
of the XBT bias correction. The problem has been corrected.

Ocean heat content estimates were posted on January 21, 2013 to our website. Due to an error, the basin means for the Atlantic,
Pacific, and Indian Oceans were the same as the global (world) ocean heat content values. The problem has been fixed
(February, 8, 2013) and the basin means now reflect ocean heat content estimates for the individual basins.
