Historical buoy data are provided by NODC from links in the table below. Older data are in the F291 format and newer data are in the netCDF format. The F291 data are available in compressed or uncompressed files stored in NODC's ftp site. The netCDF data are available through a THREDDS (Thematic Realtime Environmental Distributed Data Services) sever which provides data, metadata, and other viewing options through OPeNDAP (Open-source Project for a Network Data Access Protocol).

Go to the National Data Buoy Center for the latest conditions. (you will be leaving the NODC site)

F291 IE Users Note: If you get a "FTP Folder Error", it appears that you must turn off the "Enable Folder View for FTP Sites" option that is under Tools -> Internet Options... -> Advanced (under Browsing).

Users Note: Two or more links may be available for the same year/month - For buoys serviced during a month, the deployment number in the file name increments by one and there can be two or more D<n> links (eg, D1, D2..etc) for that buoy. For buoys with ADCP data, there is an additional ADCP link for separate ADCP data (eg, D1_adcp).
